Two different things carry the RaveGang name: the app on your phone, and this website. They have almost nothing in common, so they are answered separately. The short version: the app collects nothing and cannot, and the website collects nothing unless you type your email into the one box that asks for it.
The app
There is no account, no server and no back end. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to be sent. That is not a policy decision we could reverse quietly — it is how the thing is built.
- Your position never leaves your phone except as an encrypted signal addressed to your own gang, sealed with a key generated on your phone. We do not hold that key and never see it.
- Other people's phones running RaveGang may relay that sealed traffic onward. They cannot read it, cannot tell who sent it, and do not join anything by doing so.
- Names you type for your friends stay on your phone. They are never transmitted; colors are derived from a number, so every phone works out the same color for the same person without anyone sending it.
- A rave expires on its own, and ending it early deletes it from every phone in it.
- Permissions. Android requires location permission before it will let any app see Bluetooth scan results at all. RaveGang needs the scan; the permission is Android's price for it. Your location is not uploaded anywhere.
- The one internet moment is optional: if you check the box to download an offline street map of a venue before you go, that download is an ordinary web request to a map provider. Skip it and the app never touches the internet.
- No analytics, no crash reporting, no ad SDK, no third-party libraries phoning home.
This website
The site is static files served by Cloudflare. There is no analytics script, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no cookie, and nothing in your browser's storage. Because there is nothing to consent to, there is no consent banner.
- Server logs. Cloudflare processes your IP address, user agent and the URL you asked for in order to deliver the page and to block attacks. That is Cloudflare acting as our processor, on their standard retention. We do not build profiles from it and never join it to anything else.
- The iOS waitlist. If you submit your email address, it is emailed to us at hello@agensum.com along with the two-letter country code Cloudflare attaches to the request. It is not written to any database, because we do not run one. It sits in that inbox until we send the one message saying iOS has landed, and then it is deleted. It is never sold, never shared, and never used for anything else. Your IP address is used to rate-limit that form and is not stored.
- The download. The Android build is served from this site, so downloading it is an ordinary web request and appears in the logs above. There is no install tracking, no referral ID, and no per-download identifier in the file.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, EU or a similar jurisdiction, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to our processing of it. In practice the only thing we can hold is a waitlist email address. Write to hello@agensum.com and it will be deleted; you do not have to explain why. We have nothing else to give you, and we would rather be able to say that than have a longer answer.
Our legal basis for the waitlist is your consent, given by submitting the form. Our legal basis for the server logs is our legitimate interest in serving the site and keeping it up.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change ever means we start collecting something we do not collect today, it will be stated plainly at the top rather than folded into a paragraph.
